Choose the decision you need to make
A location description should explain how the yacht is kept, who has custody and who can respond to a problem. Keep permission to use a facility separate from physical suitability and insurer acceptance. Review any contract obligations instead of assuming a contractor’s insurance replaces the yacht policy. When dates, locations or inspection arrangements change, record the revised facts and obtain any required confirmation. Do not present a planned inspection as one already completed.

- Unattended Yacht Storage: Inspection Records — Create a useful inspection record for a stored yacht without assuming occasional visits guarantee cover.
Use the guides with your own documents
Start with the question closest to the decision in front of you. Gather the records identified in that guide and separate known facts from missing information. The worked example illustrates how to frame an enquiry; it does not report an actual claim or guarantee the outcome. Keep any written response with the policy version and facts to which it applies.
