sailboatinsurance.com.au is an independent educational guide to boat and yacht insurance in Australia. It is not an insurer, an insurance broker or an underwriting agency. It does not issue policies, arrange cover, handle claims or act as an agent for any insurer.

It may be wrong, incomplete or out of date, and you should not rely on it as a substitute for the current policy documents or professional advice. It does not take into account your objectives, financial situation or needs and is not personal financial product advice. Insurance cover depends on the actual policy wording, Product Disclosure Statement, certificate of insurance, endorsements, exclusions, limits, sub-limits and underwriting decisions that apply to your vessel. 4. Accuracy and currency
Insurance products, premiums, policy wording, underwriting rules and state legislation change. Although pages are reviewed periodically, site content can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. The Product Disclosure Statement, any Supplementary PDS, the Target Market Determination and your certificate of insurance are the only authoritative statements of what you are covered for.
5. References to insurers and brands
Where an insurer, underwriting agency or broker is named, it is described from publicly available product documents and corporate information, cited on the page. Those descriptions are not endorsements and are not comparisons of every available product. No business named on this site has approved, reviewed or sponsored what is written about it unless a disclosure on that page says otherwise. Trade marks belong to their owners.
6. Editorial independence and disclosure
The comparison method used across the site is published openly so it can be reproduced and challenged. If a referral fee, advertising payment or commission ever applies to a page, that relationship is disclosed on the page itself, and commercial payment does not determine the factual description of any product.
7. The calculators and checklists
The tools on this site perform arithmetic and organise information. They do not quote premiums, do not assess your risk and do not recommend a policy. They run in your browser, and the figures you enter are not transmitted to us. You can optionally save a draft in this browser and remove it with Reset. Their output is an aid to your own comparison, nothing more.
8. Third-party links
Links to insurers, regulators and other organisations are provided so you can read primary sources. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or accuracy.
9. Limitation of liability
The site is provided on an “as is” basis. To the extent permitted by Australian law, we exclude liability for loss arising from reliance on this site, including any decision to buy, keep, vary or cancel insurance. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Intellectual property
The written content, structure and design of this site are the property of the site operator. You may read, print and share pages for personal use and quote short extracts with attribution and a link. Republishing pages in bulk, or using them to train a commercial product without permission, is not permitted.

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top of this page records when they were last revised, and continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.
