Who this policy covers
sailboatinsurance.com.au is an independent educational guide to boat and yacht insurance in Australia. It is not an insurer, a broker or an underwriting agency. It does not arrange insurance, does not provide financial product advice, and does not act on behalf of any insurer.
What the site collects
The site does not require an account. When you submit the contact form, the details you enter are sent to Paperform for YouSail so we can receive and respond to your enquiry. Loading the embedded form also connects your browser to Paperform and its services. For information about its handling of data, read the Paperform privacy policy. If you choose to email Gabriel instead, your email provider transmits the message to his mailbox.

The calculators and checklists
The tools on this site — the sum insured worksheet, the total cost of risk calculator and the quote preparation checklist — run entirely in your browser. The figures you type are processed on your own device, are not transmitted to us or to anyone else, and are not saved unless you choose “Save on this device”. Saved drafts use browser local storage and remain until you reset the tool or clear site data. They are not synced between devices. Downloaded summaries and printed PDFs remain wherever you choose to save them. Avoid saving sensitive details on a shared device. Tool interaction events contain only the tool name and action, not entered values; no analytics service receives these events.
Server logs
The site is served by a hosting provider that, like all web hosts, records technical information about requests. This ordinarily includes an IP address, the page requested, a timestamp and a browser user-agent string. These records are used for security and to keep the site running, and we do not use them to identify individuals.
Cookies
The embedded Paperform is a third-party service and may use cookies or browser storage as described in its privacy policy. You can contact Gabriel by email if you prefer not to use the embedded form.
Links to other sites
Pages on this site link to insurers, regulators and other organisations so you can read primary documents such as a Product Disclosure Statement. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we have no control over how they handle your information.
Your rights under Australian privacy law
The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles give individuals rights in relation to personal information, including the right to ask what is held about them and to seek correction of it. If you have sent an enquiry, contact Gabriel to ask about access to or correction of the information you provided.
Changes to this policy
If the site changes in a way that affects privacy — adding analytics, storing contact submissions or introducing a referral arrangement, for example — this policy will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top of this page will change.
