Start with what changed

Compare the renewal schedule with last year's documents. Check value, equipment, storage location, use, claims and planned travel. A familiar insurer name does not mean every term is unchanged. Record questions early enough to obtain written answers before the renewal date.

Check price and cover together

  • Compare annual premium and total instalment payments.
  • Review excesses and any new endorsements or exclusions.
  • Check outstanding survey and maintenance conditions.
  • Confirm the exact commencement time of replacement cover before cancelling another policy.
