About
Purpose of our insurance guides
sailboatinsurance.com.au exists to educate Australian boat owners about insurance terminology, risk, policy comparison and marine regulation.
Insurance source selection
Use primary sources wherever practical: Commonwealth legislation, ASIC, APRA, AFCA, AMSA, state maritime authorities, official insurer PDS documents and provider disclosure documents.
Provider coverage and product neutrality
Do not describe a policy as "best" without defining the use case and comparison method. Do not publish invented coverage features. Quote current policy wording only where necessary and within copyright limits; otherwise summarise accurately.
Requesting a correction
Material factual errors should be corrected promptly and the page review date updated.
General information and financial advice
Content remains general information. If the business later provides personal advice, quote arrangement or financial product dealing, obtain appropriate legal and licensing advice before changing the site's role.
Authorship and accountability
The guide is written and edited by Gabriel and powered by YouSail.com.au. A named author makes responsibility for corrections visible; it does not turn general information into personal advice. Material about policy wording should be traceable to a current PDS or provider disclosure, and material about licensing, complaints or regulation should prefer the responsible public authority.
Processing editorial corrections
Readers can contact Gabriel with the page address, the disputed statement and a primary source. Material errors are corrected as soon as they can be verified. A review date changes only when a page has genuinely been checked; it is not changed merely to make old content appear fresh. The accuracy disclaimer explains the limits that still apply after review.
